                                                                                   What is this series about?

The last words of a person are very telling of who a person is or was. Over the course of this series, we will be examining seven statements that Jesus made before his death. Through this examination we hope to learn more on this Jesus we follow. At His most vulnerable, we can really ask: Who was He? Why do I follow Him?

This week we look at his last three words, “It is finished.” This leads us to ask: What was finished?

BIG IDEA: What was finished?

  • Scripture Reference: John 19: 28-30

IT- Reconciling people God

  • Scripture Reference: John 3:16
  • Jesus came to save us.
    • We need to agree on two things: The world is broken and that we are the ones who collectively broke it.
    • We need to believe two things about Jesus
      • Believe that He is Holy
      • Believe that He is good and loving

IS- Now, not in the future

  • You can be healed and reconciled to God, today and now.
  • The promise of Heaven can begin now in your life.

FINISHED- No more work left to be done

  • We do not have to fix up our lives
  • All that is left for you to do is accept Jesus’s gift

What now?

  • Believe and accept that Jesus demonstrated his power over life and death and accept Him into your life.
  • Rest in that it is finished and Christ paid it all.

Canopy NWA – Refugee Family Sponsorship In partnership with Canopy NWA, a co-sponsorship team from The Grove Church is working to support a refugee family arriving in Northwest Arkansas. The team is trying to raise $2,500 to cover a small portion of the $8,000 it costs to support a refugee family in the first 90 days of arrival. Your donation will be used towards the total expenses of securing housing, transportation, job training, cultural orientation, and other expenses during that first 90 days. Thank you for your support! You can contribute financially and learn more here: https://www.purecharity.com/refugee-family-sponsorship
